Current account winners and losers
As the UK’s financial climate continues to shift, the latest data on the Current Account Switch Service (CASS) reveals that 376,107 current account switches took place between October and December 2022 - the highest quarterly figure on record.
Pay.UK publish participant CASS data a quarter in arrears so we’ll have to wait another three months to see which banks won and lost customers during the Q4 2022 record quarter - however, the latest data published by Pay.UK provides an insight to which banks won and lost accounts in Q3 2022.
On Monday we’ll publish the Current Account Switch scorecard which looks at the total number of CASS switches in 2022 and the operational performance of the service offered by Pay.UK.

Of the 47 brand participants only 7 brands recorded a net gain of accounts1.
